We have regular school meetings in the gym during the school year. The headteacher summarises different school events and contests, hand awards, announce school news and inform about incoming events  at such meetings. Merlin was present at the meeting too.

Easter in Poland.... and Merlin.

It has become a tradition in our school to have the contest connected with our national Easter symbols: Easter Lamb and Easter Dyed Egg. Every year the children make very interesting versions of Easter Lamb and very original and sophisticated Easter Eggs. The whole families are engaged in the production of contest products. Now you can see the results.......
 Merlin liked them. And you?

This amazing Bulgarian tradition commemorates the approaching spring. Though we have a lot of snow now, we're also waiting impatiently for warm and sunny spring days. That's why the children in our school were very enthusiastic about making "martenitsas" or Baba Marta.

Welcome to Poland, Merlin!

Now we have our last guest Merlin- a very nice dog from Czech school. Our youngest pupils keep asking the question: "What's he having in his mouth?". And, of course, they have very interesting ideas about it.

The first days of Merlin in our school- he was helping to prepare posters to the Comenius project information board "Our pets' travels".

Saint Nick's football tournament and Martinel

One more event which happened on 8th December in our school was Saint Nick's football tournament. The pupils of five primary schools from our district took part in it. There were two teams from our school and they showed a good game. So they won the second and the third prize. Martinel cheered for two our teams and even chose the Cup for our boys in the very beginning of the tournament - the biggest one, of course. Unfortunately the first prize and the biggest Cup went to the school team of the boys from the neighbouring commune Basznia Dolna.

Christmas traditions in Poland and Martinel

On Christmas Eve we have traditional supper.  According to local beliefs it should consist of 12 dishes. Nowadays not all families follow this custom, but constant element of Christmas Eve table is clear beetroot soup called "barshch" and the pies stuffed with melted mushrooms called "ushka" . In the photos you can see the boys and Martinel making "ushka".
